Last week I was surprised and thrilled to find out that Eric and Sam were making a quick trip to Southern Cal and wanted to leave baby Kami with me for a couple of days til they came back for Easter. I was a little nervous that she might have a hard time staying without her mama but she surprised me. She is amazingly adaptable. We had a great time! She is my little sweetheart!

Labels: Who needs good snow when you have desserts like these?
Last week some of the ladies decided to go on a girls only ski trip. We were excited because the snow at Mammoth has been so phenomenal. We got off work, left food for our families, well some of us did, and gathered our snow gear together. By Wednesday morning people were dropping like flies. We ended up with just 4 ladies making the trek. Louise graciously drove us to her home in Mammoth Lakes and we crawled into bed with great anticipation for the two days of glorious skiing ahead. Well you guessed it, the morning brought cloudy skies and blustery winds. We donned our warmest gear and hit the slopes anyway. We had a fun day, if microdermabrasion from blowing ice, wind surfing on skis and moving through various forms of snow from sludge to slick marble are your ideas of fun. The food was good the company better and the mountain like a bipolar relative, the highest highs and the most terrifying lows. Steph was the only smart one. She stayed off the mountain!

Check Out the New Barbeque!
Sunday we bribed Bryce and Sarah to come up and try a delicious rotisserie chicken cooked on our new barbeque grill. Little did they know that we had no idea how to work the thing or how to begin to cook a chicken on it. Luckily it turned out okay and Bryce agreed to set up our new sound system anyway.

Mammoth Ski Weekend
The Cornice
A snow hike?
The sky was crystal blue, the mountains pristine white and the snow perfectly groomed. What more could you ask of a Mammoth Mountain weekend?

Last night all our phones started ringing at the same time, as our friends and family felt the need to let us know of the passing of our beloved Prophet. Today as I reflect upon the impact that this great man had on my life, I am filled with gratitude for his example, his leadership and for his divine calling as prophet, seer and revelator. I am awed by the reality that today he is with his sweetheart Marjorie and that this great church, without missing a beat will roll forth as a new prophet is called. Thank you President Hinckley for your service and your life. You will be missed!
